The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time

As I finished the book I realized things that don't happen in real life all the time. It ends by the family getting together again after Chris goes to live with his mother. When the family gets together Chris can't trust his dad because he lied to him for 15 years about his mom being dead. Also he cant trust him because he killed the neighbors dog. The dad lied to the son a lot and never really apologized. The book ends with the dad making a long speck about trusting him. The dad gets his trust i think by getting a dog for Christopher, and saying you can name it and walk it whenever you like. I think this gets Chris to trust him because after he killed a dog he is forgiving him with a dog of their own. This is also bribing i think because the dad is getting the son to trust him with presents.

I really liked this book because it is written from a perspective of a kid. I learned that he had problems interacting was because he was autistic. Another way I Learned he was autistic because he can do big math problems in his head.


All in all i think this story was really good and I would recommended it to everyone I know.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time

I just started this book and so far it is a little bit strange. The main character Christopher, is a weird but interesting kid. He is 15 with a lot of things going on in his life. He doesn't have a lot of family, his mom is dead and most of his mother's side of the family is dead too. We learn this in the first couple of pages. He lives with his father. He loves dogs and has a lot of friends.

In the first real scene of the book, Chris is accused of killing a dog. This was one of his friends dogs and when the police come to the scene they ask Chris a lot of questions. It seems like he is a really smart kid because he knows all about math and science. But he has trouble interacting with others. In the book he doesn't talk much and the narrating is talking to himself in his head.

He is taken to a police station and asked more questions. His father is there after Chris is put in a cell. Another reason he is weird because he thinks the cell is cozy. He says it is about 2 by 2 by 2 meters. The officer gives him a caution on his files and will be watching him. If he does anything bad again he will be in a lot more trouble.

Memoirs of a teenage amnesiac social action

Right now in my book, the main character Naomi, just figured out that she got her memories back from when her "dove" down the stairs. This all lead up to her best friends not be her friend anymore. She tries to get them back after all of the things happened between them, but she starts to do bad in school. When she finally tells her best friend about her getting her memories back, Will already knew it somehow.

I think this a social action problem because it show the injuries of teens cane affect school and friendships. This problem I don't think comes often, but when it does it can affect your life. When you lose your memories, it can affect your school work because you might not remember the work you have to do and the classes and schedules.

It can affect your social life because if you forget names of people you love and people you hate. You restate life in school, learning and meeting new people, even if they already know you. You could get used to doing things that are new to you. Like driving if you can, this is a big lose for Naomi.

If this happened to me, I would be scared because i would lose everything resent. I would also listen to others and ask a lot of questions to get back on track. I would make a lot of observations because even if they were m y best friend it would be like i could get another side of a person, I don't think I know.

In conclusion, I think having amnesia would be hard as a teen because you could forget about friends and enemies, and classes and schedules. That is what I think about this book.

Looking through a "Social Conflict Lens" on my book

In the book I just finish, there is a secret agency that gets kids under cover to work with the police and the goverment to get wanted people. in the book the main character James, befriends the most wanted drug dealer's son, Junior. James after that becomes a street dealer himself, to get closer to the dad, Keith. this Drug dealing gang, the KMG, the Keith Moore Gang, is the top drug dealing gang in the area.

Over time he gets closer and closer to the family, and to Keith Moore. in the end they take James on vacation with them to Miami. Miami is the Drug dealing central of the world. James is told to hack into Keith's computer. he does but that doesn't help the problem in the long run. In the end 3 drug dealers from other gangs break into the house and almost kill Junior and Keith. they get Keith locked up for all the crimes after he was treated at the Miami hospital. this is a social conflict because of the use of drugs and other illegal things.

Moneyball conflicts

         The conflict in the book i am reading is how the Oakland A's don't have as much money as the other teams.Billy Bean, the A's manager, was a great baseball player but never made it in the league.He became the A's manager after his career failed.he started to go in to the world of management.

         He becomes the A's management after his fail of a player. He turns the team around after the difficulty of having the least amount of money in the MLB. He is the manager for about 4 seasons then he goes to be the manager of a different team, the Boston RedSoxs. But in the time period he was there he set records and did thing in  baseball that none would have ever done until Billy Bean did. Now what Billy Bean did is now the set of teams and the same ideas and mindsets he had 10 years earlier. Another way he had troubles was because of his way of thinking other teams didn't want to deal with him because he would trade for all of their scrap players.

         The real conflict in the end is nothing, because the front office(management of a team) takes care of all the problems and the biggest problem is the way Billy left the team for more money. Also, i thought that was the most emotional and messed up part in the book.

Freak the Mighty

I think that the setting is important to this book because of the way the town is set up. The hospital seems very far acording to Max. also it seems like over the pong at the apartments where Loreta Lee lives is the "BAD" place to go. They go on a lot to quests, so the book is all about telling us about where they go, do, and see (setting). That is why i think the setting is a big part in Freak The Mighty
